Senior Media Planner and Buyer

Description

As a Senior Media Planner and Buyer, you will lead the strategic planning and execution of integrated media campaigns for a diverse range of clients. You will be responsible for translating client goals into effective media strategies, managing significant budgets and ensuring every dollar spent delivers measurable impact.

FKA is the largest full-service marketing and advertising agency headquartered in Edmonton. Our clients include the Government of Alberta, The Brick, Edmonton International Airport (YEG), Alberta Cancer Foundation and the Edmonton International Film Festival.

Responsibilities


  • Develop and execute integrated media plans across digital, social, broadcast and out of home channels.
  • Negotiate with media vendors to secure optimal placement and pricing for client campaigns.
  • Monitor and optimize live campaigns to ensure performance meets or exceeds established KPIs.
  • Build and maintain detailed media flowcharts and budget tracking documents.
  • Present media strategies and performance reports directly to clients and internal account teams.
  • Stay up to date on media trends, industry tools and emerging opportunities to bring new ideas forward.

Required experience


  • 5+ years of agency experience in media planning and buying.
  • Proven experience managing integrated campaigns including digital and traditional media.
  • Familiarity with digital platforms including Google Ads, Meta, YouTube and Google Analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with media research and planning tools.

Capabilities


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present strategies and insights to internal teams and clients.
  • Analytical thinking to interpret complex data into actionable media insights.
  • Strong organization to manage multiple fast moving campaigns and deadlines simultaneously.

Assets


  • Success in the first 12 months includes taking full ownership of a client portfolio and refining internal reporting processes.
  • Experience with specific programmatic platforms or advanced data visualization tools.

The salary range for this position is $76,500 – $99,500. This is a full-time role based in Edmonton with a hybrid work model requiring three days in-office per week. We provide a comprehensive benefits package including extended health coverage and group RRSP matching.

Compensation
